50 years ago today

deseret news archives

Just two months before his assassination,
 President John F. Kennedy spoke
in the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City.
It was an historic occasion.
It was a time of turmoil, particularly regarding foreign policy,
interestingly, mirroring much of what we are dealing with today.
My mother's cousin, Oscar W. McConkie Jr.
was the President's point man
and helped write his speech.
You can read more and listen to the speech HERE.
