The 39 Steps

We were lucky to attend closing day
of this very funny play (sold out run)
directed by my directing idol
Christopher Clark.
The play is a parody of Hitchcock films.
4 actors play over 40 characters and change personas
right in front of the audience assisted by 2 stage hands
who provide folio and props.
Laugh out loud, non-stop action.
This is the third time I've seen it staged.
First time was on the West End in London
and we were suffering from serious jet lag.
That show was done Proscenium style with
the audience looking straight on.
The brilliance of Clark's production was it was staged
in the round (a challenging task especially for sight gags)
at the beautiful Hale Center Theatre in West Valley.
We loved it!
