Rule #7: Be More Grateful...

We plow the fields and scatter the good seed on the land..
But it is fed and watered by God's almighty hand..
He sends the snow in winter, the warmth to swell the grain...
The breezes and the sunshine, and soft refreshing rain...
All good gifts around us
Are sent from Heaven above
So thank the Lord, oh thank the Lord for all his love...
We thank thee then, O Father, for all things bright and good,
The seed time and the harvest, our life, our health, our food,
No gifts have we to offer for all thy love imparts
But that which thou desirest, our humble thankful hearts!
~from the musical, Godspell
by Stephen Schwartz

More and more research is showing that gratitude is a crucial
tool for health and happiness. Feeling grateful and sharing that
with others increases happiness and reduces stress. It makes people
feel better about their lives.
Grateful people have a greater desire to serve and pay it forward.

"Gratitude is a way of defining your life circumstances.
Grateful people use words like 'lucky' or 'fortunate'
or 'blessed'.  They don't focus on what they're lacking--they
make sure they see the good in what they have.
And the more you see the good, the more good you see."
